Here you can find answers to common questions about Lineage 2, chronicles, rates, server announcements and the L2TopServers catalogue.
About Lineage 2
What is Lineage 2?▼
Lineage 2 (L2) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by NCsoft. The game was released in 2003 and became one of the most popular MMORPGs in the world.
The game features an open world with PvP and PvE content, castle sieges, clan wars, crafting and trading systems. Lineage 2 is known for its deep mechanics and social interaction.
What are private Lineage 2 servers?▼
Private servers are unofficial Lineage 2 servers created by enthusiasts using emulators. They offer various settings: from exact copies of official servers to unique modifications.
Private servers allow you to play for free or with minimal donations, choose convenient rates and chronicles, and find communities of interest.
How to choose a Lineage 2 server to play?▼
When choosing a server, pay attention to: chronicle (game version), rates (leveling speed), online (number of players), administration reputation and player reviews.
On L2TopServers you can filter servers by chronicles and rates, and see opening dates to find a suitable project.
Lineage 2 Chronicles
What are chronicles in Lineage 2?▼
Chronicles are major Lineage 2 updates that add new content, mechanics, locations and classes. Each chronicle has its own features and balance.
Popular chronicles: C4, Interlude, Gracia, High Five, Classic, Essence. Private servers usually run on one of these versions.
What is Interlude and why is it so popular?▼
Interlude (C6) is a 2007 chronicle considered the 'gold standard' of Lineage 2. It features balanced PvP, classic mechanics without transformations and a lot of content.
Interlude is popular on private servers due to nostalgia, emulator stability and an active community. It's a great choice for those who want a classic L2 experience.
What is High Five?▼
High Five (HF, H5) is the last chronicle of 'old' Lineage 2 before the transition to Goddess of Destruction. Released in 2011, it includes all third profession classes, transformations and many instances.
High Five is popular among players who want more content than Interlude but prefer the classic leveling system without Awakening.
What is Lineage 2 Classic?▼
Lineage 2 Classic is an official version from NCsoft that recreates the atmosphere of early chronicles (C1-C4) with modern improvements. It features hardcore leveling and PvP-oriented gameplay.
Classic is also popular on private servers: players appreciate slow leveling, party importance and old-school atmosphere.
What is Lineage 2 Essence?▼
Lineage 2 Essence is a simplified L2 version with accelerated leveling, auto-combat and mobile-style adaptation. Officially launched by NCsoft in 2019.
Essence attracts casual players who want to quickly reach endgame and participate in mass PvP without months of leveling.
What is Gracia?▼
Gracia is a series of chronicles between Interlude and High Five (Gracia Part 1, Part 2, Final, Epilogue). It added new locations (Hellbound, Gracia), kamaloka, vitality and transformation system.
Gracia Final and Epilogue are popular on private servers as an intermediate option between Interlude and High Five.
What is C4 (Chronicle 4: Scions of Destiny)?▼
C4 (Chronicle 4: Scions of Destiny) is a 2005 chronicle that added Olympiad, heroes, new classes and improved graphics. Considered a classic alongside Interlude.
C4 attracts hardcore players who appreciate simple mechanics and the absence of 'extra' content from later chronicles.
Which chronicle should a beginner choose?▼
For beginners we recommend Interlude or High Five on servers with x3-x15 rates. These chronicles have a large community, many guides and stable emulators.
If you want to reach PvP faster — try High Five x50+ or Essence. For hardcore experience — Classic or C4 with low rates.
Lineage 2 Server Rates
What are rates on L2 servers?▼
Rates are multipliers for experience (XP), money (Adena), item drop and spoil. For example, x10 means you get 10 times more experience than on the official server.
Rates determine leveling speed and overall game pace. Low rates (x1-x5) mean long leveling, high rates (x100+) mean quick start and PvP focus.
What is a Low Rate server?▼
Low Rate servers have x1-x5 rates. Leveling takes weeks or months, like on official servers. Valued for atmosphere, socialization and long-term gameplay.
Low Rate suits players who want to immerse themselves in L2 world, build a clan and participate in server politics.
What is a Mid Rate server?▼
Mid Rate servers have x5-x50 rates. Balance between leveling and PvP: you can reach top level in 1-2 weeks of active play.
Mid Rate is the most popular server type. Suits most players who want both leveling experience and PvP.
What is a High Rate server?▼
High Rate servers have x50-x1000+ rates. Leveling takes hours or days. Focus on PvP, sieges and mass battles.
High Rate suits those who want to dive into PvP immediately without long leveling. Often have starter kits and simplified economy.
What is a PvP Lineage 2 server?▼
PvP servers are servers with very high rates (x1000-x10000+) where players immediately get top gear and can participate in battles.
PvP servers usually have special battle zones, tournaments and events. Leveling is minimal or absent.
Which rates are better to choose?▼
The choice depends on your preferences and time. If you have little time — choose x50+. Want long gameplay with a clan — x1-x15. Want only PvP — x1000+.
On L2TopServers you can filter servers by rates and find a project for your play style.
Server Announcements
What is an L2 server announcer?▼
An announcer (server top, catalogue) is a website where announcements of new Lineage 2 servers are published with opening dates, chronicles and rates. L2TopServers is one such announcer.
Announcers help players find new servers and administrators attract audience before project launch.
How to add my server to L2TopServers?▼
To add a server, use the 'Submit Server' form. Provide the name, chronicle, rates, opening date and website link. After moderation the server will appear in the list.
Adding is free. VIP placement is available for an additional fee and provides extra visibility.
Why doesn't my server appear immediately?▼
All submissions go through manual moderation. Usually this takes from a few hours to 1-2 days. We check that the website works and information is correct.
If your server doesn't appear for a long time — contact us via the contact page or Telegram.
How do you verify servers?▼
We check that the server website opens, the start date is reasonable, and the description doesn't look fraudulent. We don't test gameplay on every server.
If you encounter a problem with a server from our catalogue — let us know and we will take action.
What is VIP placement on L2TopServers?▼
VIP servers are highlighted in the list: marked with a badge, placed higher in the table and can have animated highlighting. This is a paid service for extra visibility.
VIP doesn't affect catalogue fairness — it's highlighting within its group. More details on the advertising page.

Lineage 2 has over 30 classes divided by races: Human, Elf, Dark Elf, Orc, Dwarf, Kamael. Classes are divided into warriors, mages, archers, summoners, healers and supports.
Each class has unique skills and role in a party. Class choice affects playstyle and demand in PvP/PvE.

Crafting is creating items (weapons, armor, jewelry) from materials and recipes. Crafting is done by dwarf crafters (Warsmith, Maestro).
Crafting is an important part of L2 economy. Top items are often crafted, not dropped from monsters.
